Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Caliber Chesterfield Concrete Company to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or signing a written estimate with us, you agree to them.
If a signed estimate or contract for your job says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site. You can still call us with questions.
What we do
We're a concrete contractor in Chesterfield, MO. We build and replace driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, pool decks, retaining walls, footings and foundations, and we do stamped and decorative concrete, foundation raising and concrete cutting for homes and businesses in Chesterfield and the cities around it.
The service descriptions on this site are general. The exact work on your job, including size, thickness, finish and any reinforcement, is what's written in your estimate. You can read more about who we are on our About page, or start from the home page.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free, and asking for one doesn't commit you to anything. We give you a written estimate after we've seen the site, because the condition of the ground, access for the truck, tear-out of old concrete and drainage all affect the price.
An estimate is based on what we can see before work starts. If we find something once the job is open, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, buried debris or an old slab thicker than expected, we'll stop, explain it and give you the added cost in writing before we go on. We don't do extra work without your okay.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed and we may need to update the figure.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We schedule pours around the weather, because concrete poured in heavy rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can end up weaker or with a poor surface. If conditions aren't right on your date, we'll move the job to the next good day and let you know as early as we can. A weather delay isn't a breach by either of us.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as soon as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials, set forms or started digging, you'll owe the cost of the work done and any materials we can't return, as spelled out in your estimate.
Before we start, you're responsible for telling us where your property lines are and about any private lines, sprinklers or septic parts in the work area, and for clear access to the site. Public utility lines are marked before digging.
Payment
Your written estimate lists the payment schedule for your job, including any deposit and when the balance is due. Payment is due on the dates it shows.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made. Unpaid balances may carry late charges and collection costs where Missouri law allows, and we may use the lien rights Missouri law gives contractors.
Curing and care after the pour
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before it can take weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and you agree to keep people, vehicles and pets off it until then.
Damage caused by early use, de-icing salts in the first winter, heavy equipment, or changes to drainage or grading after we leave isn't our responsibility.
Our workmanship and what we don't promise
We stand behind our work, and if something we did isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it. Any written warranty for your job is the one in your signed estimate, and it controls over anything on this website.
All concrete can form small hairline cracks as it dries and as the ground moves with the seasons. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, to keep that cracking where we chose. Hairline cracks, small color differences between pours and minor surface variation in a broom finish or stamped pattern are normal and aren't defects.
Beyond any written warranty, the work and this website are provided as is, and we make no other promises, stated or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent Missouri law allows. We also don't promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway during curing or damage caused by soil movement, flooding or other things outside our control.
We're licensed and insured, and nothing here limits liability that Missouri law doesn't let a business limit.
Settling disagreements
If you're unhappy with something, call us first at (636) 237-0079. Most problems get settled faster by talking on site than by anything else, and we'll make a good-faith effort to work it out with you.
If we can't settle it that way, either of us may bring the matter in the state or federal courts serving St. Louis County, Missouri, and you and we agree to those courts handling it.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies when you use the site. Changes don't affect a job you've already signed for unless we both agree in writing.
Questions about these terms
If anything here isn't clear, call us at (636) 237-0079 or reach us through our Contact page, and we'll explain it in plain terms before you decide anything.
